2024 Workshop on AI in Agrotechnology | May 23 – June 5, 2024.
TAIPEI, TAIWAN | Ms. Jade Enot-Sanidad of the Bureau of Plant Industry-Crop Pest Management Division, recently participated in a 14-day “Workshop on AI in Agrotechnology”organized by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) held last May 23 to June 5, 2023 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The program aims to empower participants with AI insights, fostering sustainable agricultural models, and learn the latest technologies to control pests with the help of intelligent image recognition, pest monitoring programs and remote control systems.
Aside from the lectures about the Smart Agriculture Program 4.0, developed digital monitoring tools and how to promote agricultural digitalization, field tour was also conducted to mango orchards, hydroponics system, aquaculture technologies, and poultryfarms located in Kaoshiung, Taitung, Chayi County, Yunlin County, and Taichung, Taiwan.
BPI-CPMD’s involvement in international workshops and forum allows them to gather other package of technologies and extend insights to strengthen the goal of the division in the integration of digital technology for pest surveillance, monitoring and pestmanagement in the Philippines.
