Serving as Resource Speakers in the Information Caravan on Plant Nursery Accreditation and Plant Material Certification for Plant Nursery Operations | May 29 and 31, 2024 in BARMM and region XII.
Mr. Jairus J. Abellar of the Bureau of Plant Industry, Crop Pest Management Division (BPI-CPMD) attended and served as a resource speaker on the Information Caravan on Plant Nursery Accreditation and Plant Material Certification for Plant Nursery Operations, which was held at BARMMIARC Training Center, Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, on May 29, 2024, and at DA-Balindong Experiment Station, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, on May 31, 2024.
Mr. Abellar shares his knowledge and expertise on the pests and diseases of cacao and its management, in which he aims to promote and improve the fruit and plantation crop sectors in the region. In addition, this initiative of the Bureau of Plant Industry also introduced and oriented nursery operators in the region to the importance of requirements and the process of nursery accreditation and plant material certification.
The event was participated in by NSQCS BARMM and Region XII, comprised of prospective nursery operators from both the government and private sectors.
